ATC GARLIC OIL: Love Your Heart!

I've known that garlic was a booster for bad cholesterol and for the heart. My father taught me how to make a home-based concoction the natural way. He has a high blood and heart problems like I do, now,  which is cardiomegaly. Yes, I have cardiomegaly, it's difficult to do and move around fast without stopping by and catch your breath. As a mom, I want to watch my son grow until my twilight years.

I decided to be heart conscious. Love your heart. Be heart healthy. People are catching on to the fact that one must cut down on bad cholesterol at all costs. There is no more question to this as several countries’ governments have already initiated and successfully banned and/or regulated the availability of bad fat from food sources. And the results have been amazing! Deaths due to heart-related diseases have significantly been reduced. Don’t wait for this to happen here.

The decision to be heart healthy can be made for us. But, it is our responsibility to make it a personal decision. Inform yourselves on how to remove bad cholesterol from your diets and get assistance from ATC Garlic Oil.

Please HELP The Victims of Typhoon Lando In Mabini, Pangasinan

Typhoon Koppu (local name, Lando) is a super typhoon that hit Northern and Central Luzon in the Philippines, leaving a sorely devastated to communities. Despite this, as a nation of undeniable human spirit, we are mabiskeg enough to go through anything. Mabiskeg is the Pangasinense term for strong and firm.

Mabini is a town in Western Pangasinan. It is one of the most devastated  by Typhoon Koppu (local name Lando). In Mabini, schools are one of the hard-hit structures, and some of the structures are in isolated areas. More often than not, people who watch the news or read the paper offer relief goods, clothes, medicines, and toiletries as forms of help. Only a few give attention on the education of the children who are affected, how the kids can go back to their schools.

According to Romeo C. Briones of TakeOff Philippines;
"This project is to maximize and spread out the help people can offer. This may sound little, but a notebook can do so much, especially that many families lost literally everything; it would help them get back on their feet and start again. Furthermore, the focus is on education because I was a child in that town who experienced being evacuated and all that. I could have saved other things, but my Mom would tell me to save my bag. I resolve that to parents, knowing that their children go back to school are quite a relief."
The main focus of the campaign is to consolidate school supplies, but it would be best to include basic needs like cash, relief goods, clothes, sheets, medicines, and toiletries because many families were not able to save a single thing due to flash floods.

For local cash donations, please contact

International cash donations are also accepted through
Online Fundraising Campaign
via Indiegogo (Typhoon Koppu Relief Funds).

Anyone from abroad may click the link to donate. Rest assured all monetary donations will be converted into helping the children go to school again.

In Quezon City area, donations can be turned in through,
Romelie Tamares (0936 694 9555)

For Makati area, reach
Koko Alviar (0917 826 1557).

The crowdsourcing campaign runs until the 6th of November 2015.
The items will be delivered on the 7th of November 2015.

Another part of the project is to tap interested groups, especially student organizations, fraternities, and sororities to spearhead or partner with local teachers and government officials to help rehabilitate the damaged schools. Interested parties may email through triumphjpaquino@gmail.com.

If typhoons can leave a mark, why can’t we? Let us help out and rebuild our nation together. As how they put it, the Filipino spirit is waterproof.

Herbalife Health Poll: 9 in 10 Filipinos ”highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause

MANILA, Philippines - Nine out of 10 Filipino consumers surveyed by global nutrition company Herbalife are “highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause them. With the same number of consumers, believing that simple lifestyle changes can help them improve their overall well-being.

A good number of the respondents expressed willingness to adopt a healthy lifestyle;
  • 79 % - said that they would cut down on unhealthy foods
  • 78 % - expressed their willingness to exercise more regularly
  • 72 % - said they would make better nutrition choices.

“We welcome the results of the survey. It gives an understanding of Filipinos becoming even more health conscious and self-aware that they need to make some lifestyle changes to improve their overall well-being. It also gives Herbalife an idea where we are needed, because as the survey revealed only four out of 10 would spend 10 to 30 minutes a day to make simple lifestyle changes,” said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager.

The respondents, however, cited the following as the top obstacles to achieving a healthy lifestyle: lack of time for exercise (75 percent), lack of time to make proper nutrition choices (64 percent), and the high cost of healthy food (62 percent).

The same health poll likewise showed that the top three aging-related concerns in the country were the heart, brain, and eye health.

Better knowledge and understanding
“The findings from the Herbalife survey clearly show that the majority of people in Asia Pacific that we questioned believe in the value of good nutrition and exercise as contributing to their overall well-being. We aim to play a greater role in providing practical tips and information to people to help them understand that the journey to a healthier, more active lifestyle is not difficult to achieve. With as little as 10 minutes a day, consumers can take positive steps to improve their nutrition and be more active, which will improve their overall well-being,” said William M. Rahn, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.

Herbalife conducted the survey in September 2015 in the lead-up to its Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour. It surveyed 1,200 respondents across six countries, including the Philippines, on perceptions towards their current health and lifestyle. Respondents from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand were likewise included in the survey.

Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour
Now on its fourth year, the Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour aims to deepen people’s practical understanding of the various aspects of living a healthy active lifestyle. Its previous tours in the past three years saw close to 60,000 participants across the region
.
This year’s Wellness Tour will feature five members of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) visiting 14 markets and 21 cities across the Asia-Pacific in the month of October. They will share their expert views on how people can make use of the little time they have to make simple lifestyle changes that will enhance their well-being.
Herbalife’s NAB experts will likewise share their views on a wide range of health-related topics, including weight management, brain health and aging; heart health; immunology; and skin care at the medical symposia being held in Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Herbalife NAB experts participating in this year’s Wellness Tour include Dr. David Heber, who incidentally will be coming to Manila, is a leading expert in the field of nutrition and named as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters in 2014 and considered one of “The Best Doctors in America”; Dr. Lou Ignarro, a Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1998 for his discovery of nitric oxide’s health benefits; Dr. Gary Small, a specialist in brain health and aging who has authored over 500 scientific works and has received numerous awards and honors, including the “Senior Investigator Award” from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry; Dr. Marion Fltechner-Mors, a health nutrition specialist who is currently heading the nutrition and obesity research group at ULM University, Germany; and Dr. Wang Jae Lee, a physician and academic specializing in immunology and a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine.

Dr. Heber, who is the founding Director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles, will be conducting a symposium for free to Filipino medical practitioners on October 23, 9 am, at the Manila Hotel. The symposium will gather a group of 100 doctors, nurses, physical therapists and medical practitioners. The title of the symposium is “Obesity: More Than Just Being Overweight and Nutrition Forecast for 2020.” Seminars of Dr. Heber are recognized by US hospitals as part of Continuing Education Studies, which are often required of applicants. The following day, Oct. 24, Dr. Heber will be holding seminars for thousands of Herbalife Independent Members in the same hotel.

This is the first time Dr. Heber, who is also the Chairman of the NAB and the Herbalife Nutrition Institute, to conduct a seminar in Manila since the company was founded in the Philippines 22 years ago.

CDR-King’s Advocates Sustainable Living thru California E-bike

Disruptors are welcome, from an old school perspective to the most advanced technological breakthroughs in the power supply, whichever era you may be, CHANGE is inevitable.

Nikola Tesla during our primary days as a student was sadly in obscurity till we reach high school. He challenged the existing and widely accepted manner of lighting though oil lamps to the macro voltage - electricity distribution system courtesy of his well-accepted Alternating Current most commonly known AC.

Nikola Tesla is not as famous as Tomas Edison as taught during basic education, but his works and legacy blazes up to this day. The Same aspiration as CDR-King, your one stop media provider intends to manifest, to bring products and cost efficient means of power/electricity supply to every household.

California E-bikes, a CDR-King subsidiary, open its doors in TONDO. The branch is powered by a hybrid electricity system that enables sustainable solar energy. As environmentally friendly as it should be, it also aims to display similar concept Solar-kit for one's household in turn helps you save thousands off your hard earned money on the monthly electric bill.

California E-bike started its operation in the Philippines early 2013 with E-Scooter and later on came out with other variants of e-bikes. Today California E-bike offers more than 30 variants in more than 40 branches.

One Day To Blogapalooza 2015 #ResponsibleMedia

Yay! It's one day to Blogapalooza 2015! I'm so excited na.

It has been my wishful thinking to join the Blogapalooza, since it started in 2011. But, I was pregnant then, so I pass but it has never been out of my mind. It is not only meeting

Now, I come back with a new domain name for more than a month. I was kind of busy blogging with some Press Release until I saw it on my Facebook Newsfeed. I did not waste time to sign-up because it was only 11 days before the said event.

Blogapalooza started in 2011 with an annual Blogapalooza event that run for a day. It was an invite-only event that only Bloggers and Businesses can attend. It was an idea to gather all businesses and bloggers, together. The business/companies would showcase their products/services to bloggers. The bloggers while building a good relationship. Also, it saves time for both the bloggers and businesses in terms of transportation and money.

I read some articles about what to bring in the event. Unfortunately, I don't have those important items. What I can bring are these items:

1) Calling card
I've created it. This is number one important because the business wants to contact you for a product review, events and an exchange for some loots.

2.) Water
As I've read, there are food tasting, perhaps, it will be convenient if you bring your own.

3.) Minty Candies
As I've said, there are food tasting, so it'll make your breath smells different, aside from water, I think you need more minty candies.

4) iPad
For taking photos and if there's no wi-fi, good luck to me.

5) Cellphone
A cellphone that is not android nor a smartphone.

6)Charger
I don't have a power bank. Again, good luck if I can find a spot for charging my gadget with low batteries.

I'll cross my fingers when I get there! See you there!

How I Create My Blog Title

These past days, I was trying to rack my brain for a new blog title. I feel that "Elisa Knows and Writes" isn't me. The blog title was created in a snap because of the SEO thing. Yes, I pass the number of characters in the blog title. But, I am not comfortable with it. It must be something else. Something about ME!! The blog represents about you as a blogger.

A friend Cindy who is an SEO Expert messaged me in Facebook and exchange comments on her post. She asked me if I am a home study. I was surprised then I remember my Facebook post of "Self studying is worth it". We had a little conversation that is an exchange of ideas. I took the opportunity and shoot her a question. If she can suggest a blog title for me. Her answer is "Go with your feelings!". Go with your feelings! I keep it playing on my mind. I tried to feel it with my heart. I keep understanding and thinking about it. What do I want? What are the things that I love to do? How do I feel? What are my feelings? Is it emotions? What is the best blog title that describes me? These are the questions that are lurking in my mind. Suddenly, I know the answer! Of all the places, I was in the shower when it happened. "For The Love of Learning"!

how to make a blog title
For the Love of Learning, is my new blog title!

This blog title speaks about me and what I am doing right now. Having a new domain is a challenge. I had zero idea on how to transfer the domain name to blogspot especially it's a little bit complex. Eventually, it took me two days to transfer and understand. I was challenged and I love it with feelings. Now, I keep on researching or googling the internet trying to learn different tips and tricks. It's all about blogging such as the SEO, traffic drive in search engines, webmaster tools and a bit of coding on the side.  Whatever I learned from my research, I applied it on my blog. Do it with passion!

As the days go by, I learned that there is no need to rush. Take things slowly. Loved whatever you learned and do. DO it with feelings! Do it with your heart.

Update:

I am fond of changing blog titles!

Philippine Payroll Software to Help Businesses Grow

If you are working, one of the most important elements for you is receiving your salary accurately and on time. Is there a Philippine payroll software that can actually do that especially now that businesses is facing greater challenges locally and regionally?

With the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community and the ASEAN integration businesses would have to compete not only with local companies, but also with competitors in the ASEAN region not only with their products but with their employees as well. This is the main reason why businesses should already be upgrading their system and looking for ways to improve business processes.

Payroll is one of the most important business process, but most of the time the way that it is being done is mostly overlooked. In 1999, Mustard Seed Systems Corporation developed an in-house Payroll software – Philippine Payroll Software out of its own need to improve its payroll system.

Urbanista: A Tribute to Urban Lifestyle

Whatever, Whenever and Wherever, music has been a part of our life. Even a baby loves to hear music and lull them to sleep. As a mom, that's what I do with my son when he was more than a year old.

When it's time for me to do the house chores, I'd love to hear an upbeat music. Madonna's music makes me dance while doing house chores. I sway and sashay while sweeping the dance floor err the house floor. Even if I am washing our clothes, no one can stop me. It makes me feel so relaxed, light, happy and fast! That is why - “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”

With that, I need a good headset/earphone product so I can move my hands and limbs freely. As they say, "Go with the flow". I am lucky that Urbanista is now in the Philippines.
