All New AJI-SINIGANG® Cube in Sour-Savory Taste

A "must" in most Pinoy households' weekly menu is the Sinigang Soup. The whole family enjoys a bowl of warm and refreshing Sinigang dish in hot or cold weather conditions. It has been observed though that most people using sinigang mixes available in the market would need to add other savory and meaty seasonings i.e. pork cube and all-in-one seasonings to achieve the ideal sinigang taste, which is not just about sourness but savory taste as well.

The new Ajinomoto® Sinigang Cube is all that you will ever need to cook Sinigang with the preferred blend of sour-savory (asim-linamnam) taste. It is perfect in providing the balanced rich, savory deliciousness and appetizing sourness to any sinigang dish. Each cube is “ZoopSiksik™” because it is packed with the right level of tamarind sourness and savory taste from meaty extracts.

AJI-SINIGANG® Cube is available in single 13g pillow pack cube for P5.00 and 8 pieces of 13g packed in re-sealable stand-up pouch for P38.00.

Stop Street Harrassment, A Pioneering Law in Quezon City

Quezon City–  Out of five women, three have experienced sexual harassment in commuting within Metro Manila. According to a new research,  Baseline Study on How safe are women in our city streets”, commissioned by then Quezon City Local Government and United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (UN Women). What's even more alarming is that one in three of these women experienced the worst forms of sexual harassment such as witnessing a male masturbates and rubbing or groping (panghihipo) inside the MRT/jeepneys..

In lieu of the Street Harassment and Sexual Violence Against Women and Girls (SVAWG) in public spaces, the LGU and UN Women held back-to-back events to commemorate International Women’s Day (#IWD2016) as well as to kick-off the celebrations in March as the National Women’s Month.

The first press conference was held at QCX Museum where the research has been launched. It reveals the amendment passed by the Local Government of Quezon City to Gender and Development Code in the increase of the penalty of sexual harassment and sexual violence against women in public spaces to a range of one to five thousand pesos (Php1,000 to Php5,000) for the varying severity of offenses.

Due to shame or fear, traditionally, women ignore and keep silent the catcalls, wolf-whistling, stalking, repeated harassment for their numbers, even bearing indecent language being yelled at them by men as they walk by. Women experience all these forms of sexual harassment as they move about in the city, using public transport, terminals, markets/malls, and even just walking home in their own neighborhoods.

During the press conference, while they were discussing the problem of the frequent street harassment, De Castro observed, "We know about it, we are offended by it, but we don't know how to prevent it." The research reported that eighty-eight percent (88%)of women aged 18-24 years, have experienced some form of sexual harassment in their lives, but more than half do not report or do anything about it.

This is why the LGU partnered with UN Women to implement the Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces Global Initiative. QC is the first city in Metro Manila to be one of over 24 cities around the world in the programme to stop street harassment and sexual violence against women and girls (SVAWG) in public spaces with funding from Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID).

The second event was a grand assembly of 1000 supporters who released sky lanterns to light up the Quezon City skyline and called for safe cities where women are free from fear and free from all forms of street harassment and sexual violence.

It was a visual spectacle where supporters of women’s right to safety in the city banded together to celebrate the spirit of community fighting to stop street harassment of women. Hosted by PTV4’s Good Morning Boss talents, Jules Guiang and Karla Paderna, the event was graced by musical performances from Cooky Chua and Bayang Barrios.

Guiang expressed, “This is such an important issue and we are grateful that for the first timewe have a programme on women’s safety in public spaces and educating everyone that sexual harassment of women in any form is not acceptable.”

My Ultrasound Result - Cervical Cyst or Polyps?

I had more than two weeks of menstruation and an itch. For 2 days, I did not see even a tinge of red in my underwear. It was happiness for me, then.
I went to an ob-gyne for check-up. Guess, I had disclose it in my previous post about the cream she gave me for the itch. Now, for my prolonged period problem. She tried to insert her two fingers in my V-part and placed her hand on my tummy and push it down softly. But, I was nervous because I can feel a little bit of pain. My ob-gyne suggest an ultrasound. It was Transvaginal ultrasound.
Transvaginal ultrasound is like a pelvic examination that checks all our female reproductive organs. It is use to check our cervix, uterus and ovaries.
As what my ob suggested, I scheduled myself for the ultrasound last Saturday. I was a bit nervous because the sonographer is a man and at the same time a doctor.  When it was my time to lay in bed, he asked me what was the problem. I told him everything. I remind him that I am bleeding. My ob does not know about it because I was not bleeding at that time, yet. It was next day after the check up. This "next day" was a walk to a small bazaar (in Filipino term, it is "tiangge").
After the insertion, the sonographer told me to ask my ob-gyne for a pap smear. A pap smear can tell if it's a cervical cyst or polyps. Either is the cause of my bleeding.
It wasn't funny! I almost cry but I held unto my feelings.
Tuesday was the ob-gyne schedule in the hospital. Unfortunately, she did not arrive. A nurse told me that she has a problem with her kidney. Furthermore, the nurse suggest to find another ob-gyne.
