Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Tungko Bulacan

The Internet shop was still closed and I feel bored staying and walking around with the computers as if it was mine. Sadly, it wasn’t! So, I took a bath and left the key to the caretaker, and off to Tungko to visit Our Lady of Lourdes (Grotto).

It was my first time to visit the Grotto, known for its replica statue of the Lady of Lourdes in France. I arrived in Tungko for about 20 to 30 minutes ride in a jeepney. The fare is only P15pesos from Bigte.

How To Get There

If you are from EDSA, you may take a bus with a signage “Tungko” and SM Fairview.  The drop-off point is Tungko and probably the fare is between 80 to 90 pesos, my guess. Another way is if you are from Taft, take MRT going to GMA Kamuning, from there, you have to walk from the left side and cross the other road that you will see going to SM Fairview. There again, take a bus going to Tungko. Also, there are buses who will take you to Grotto, it has a “GROTTO” signage in the bus front window. So, from Tungko, you can see a lot of jeepneys, again signage is “Grotto”. Tell the driver to drop you off in the grotto church. The fare is only 7 pesos. I think its 5 to 10 minutes ride. Here are the photos while wandering around the groove.

Here are some photos I took inside the grotto.

And the last photo reflects the  not-so-good site. A lot of plastic bags near the third station. I was actually trying to take a shot, far view of the park where some people are resting and eating after visiting different stations. I saw some people sweeping the area.

Amid all these, I remember my mother visiting these areas. It is like I'm following her steps left behind.

Julie Vega - Child Star of the 70's

Here's a blog I bumped on while browsing the Internet, it's  JULIE VEGA!!! Yehey!!!  Her real life name is Julie Pearl Darling Apostol Postigo. She was the child star of the '70s era, a darling of the cinema. She died at the age of 16 that shook her fans.

Oh, I had a photo like this but I left it in Cavite. At the back of the photo, Julie wrote a message for Lola Tita. Actually, I asked it from my Lola Tita (my grandmother's sister)

Actually, in the past months, I was browsing for photos of Julie Vega, and wondering if there's a summary of her past movie like "Ang Mga Mata ni Angelita". Reminiscing the past, I know little from her until my father told me she was my relative (distant). I don't know how or what links we had from our ancestors.

One time, she had a concert in Iligan City - the venue was in MSU-IIT's Stadium. Like all entertainers who had concerts will have a Road Tour around the city. We were on St. Michael's College (Quezon City) building that time, having class. We heard fan shouts and thumping of feet. The class was stopped and we ran to the rail of the building. There, I saw only Julie's hands waving to her fans. A lot of people were out on the streets cheering her. I wanted to shout, but no words will come out. I turned my back because my tears are starting to fall. Maybe, it is the blood (relation) that surge up.

When I went home, my father told me to change because we are going to Kiwalan. We lived in Sta. Filomena before coming to Kiwalan. He brought me to Purok 4 to meet Julie Vega's mother whom I called as Auntie Pearl. My father has exchange pleasantries with her and introduced me. Julie wasn't around. We went home without meeting her. I had no regrets. I am very happy knowing she was my cousin is already a fulfillment!

My Online Blogging Mentor

During the down moments last year, I was desperate on seeking help! Honestly, money is the first thing but I shoved it at the back of my mind. How would anyone give a hand on the lending money when I don’t have a job? It creates fear in me. Fortunately, some of my friends lend a hand me money and did not persist on the when-will-you-pay-me terms.

I moved to my boyfriends’ place, though. It was a thrill for the reason I am not going to reveal. He worked in an internet shop. So, internet connection is handy. I can do the internet anytime, I want as long it’s not  as  busy as a bee with the customers.

First thought, how will I earn money through the internet? I browse the internet for possible home-based jobs and mostly, I read virtual assistants (not this one, I’m in an internet shop), virtual/copywriter (uh-uh, my English is not excellent) and data entry in which I choose. Even how noisy they are in the internet shop, or how busy I am giving my little clients needs, still I can work on the entry.

Then, I thought, maybe I can find something useful in the forum in Cosmo (an online forum for Cosmopolitan (magazine) readers. I logged on and browse different threads; back read sent pm’s to people for inquiry until I saw someone talking about PTC. I contacted and asked her for help on how to earn online. Her name is on the blogger world is Redamythest a.k.a. Red, (has a blog spot in which I follow), a mom, a blogger, an office girl and a business woman at the same time. She's a great blogger and online money-maker.

I am thankful that I found her;  who taught me the how-to's  of  money online. She was very helpful.
